Slum Film Festival submissions for the 2017 edition of the festival are open!
The 7th Edition of Slum Film Festival (SFF) invites filmmakers from across the world to submit their Short films for awards and screening in the festival from between 1st and 27th October 2017.
This year’s theme is ‘Stories of Good Governance’. The festival this year is particularly looking for shorts films and documentaries that chronicle democracy, integrity, leadership, elections, reduced corruption, respect for the rule of law, human rights, functional institutions, accountability, and participatory politics among other issues.
Only films completed in 2015, 2016, and 2017 will be considered. There is no charge for entry.
Submissions accepted online via Film Freeway at https://filmfreeway.com/festival/SlumFilmFestival
In order to submit a film through filmfreeway, an account needs to be created if this has not already been done in previous years.
The deadline for all entries (short films, documentaries and feature fiction films), including delivery of screeners, is 31st May 2017.
This year’s edition will feature a broad programme with a top notch Master class on documentary making, several panel discussions, and seminars, open air screening events in the slums and in prime locations in Nairobi’s central business district, as well as a closing and awards galas.
